海華中文學校是由一群學生家長所籌劃組成，希望能給孩子有一個良好的學習環境，一套適合的教材；在這種共同認知之下，成立了這所中文學校。我們把每一個小朋友都視同自己小孩般照顧，並且在這個“小而精”的教學環境當中，讓所有的孩子們都能夠快樂而有效的學習中文。海華提供給大家的有：

The Canadian-Chinese Mandarin School is a school established by

students’ parents, for students’ needs. We hope to provide an encouraging and comfortable learning environment for the students and a set of thorough

teaching material. The goal is to treat each child as one of our own,

providing them with the care, attention, and proper guidance for them

to excel in their studies at our school. Below is a more detailed outline

of what our school can provide for your child in their Mandarin studies:

精心編排的實用課程──

以國語﹝普通話﹞授課，繁體字和漢語拼音為主要教授內容。採用台灣僑委會

               所編的海外版教材，並輔以授課老師精心編製，適合本地學生的課外作業，                並準備了許多參考資料及精心設計的課外輔助教材，讓孩子獲得最佳的學習                        效果。也介紹中華的文化與傳統；將中國傳統的節日及典故，適當的

                       編入課程。為了方便由台灣來的小朋友，學校更提供漢語拼音、

                       注音符號對照表，以協助小朋友更快進入學習狀況。

Teaching in Mandarin, we focus on traditional characters and pin yin in our lessons. Using the new Collection of the Taiwan Overseas Chinese Affairs Commission, our school not only teaches Mandarin as a language, but also the traditions and history of the Chinese culture. We have also prepared extra information and supplementary material to complement the main course curriculum.

負責認真的優秀老師──

我們把每一個小朋友都視同自己小孩般照顧。海華中文學校尤其注重學校與學生及家庭之間的互動，讓家長知道孩子在學校學習的情況，並了解學校與孩子之間互動的情況。除了針對中、低年級的班級，我們設有家庭聯絡簿，方便家長與學校作雙向溝通與交流之外，學校每學期都會有成績報告給家長參考，

對學生上課的表現，任課教師都有詳細的評語，讓家長知道

孩子在學校學習的情況，並且能瞭解家長對課程安排的意見，

作為任課老師往後備課及學校改進之參考。任課教師會不定時的

與家長當面或電話溝通，讓父母更了解學校與孩子之間互動的情況

We consider each child like one of our own. Because of this, the interaction between the school, the parents, and the students is of utmost importance to us. Teachers keep parents up to date on class events and student participation and behavior. Phone conferences are done each term to ensure proper communication between all parties involved.

活潑生動的教學方式──

海華以正面、鼓勵的方式，引導小朋友學習；教學內容採多樣化，不僅僅是傳統教學，還有手工藝、視訊教學及團體遊戲，以提高孩子學習中文的興趣。此外，除了每學年的獎學金頒發之外，在每學期結束時，也針對小朋友不同方面的表現，發給獎狀，以提高小朋友的榮譽感，激勵小朋友學習中文的興趣。

A fun and flexible teaching style.

Not only is there teaching in the traditional sense, but also a variety of learning activities and exercises. These include singing songs, story telling, traditional arts and crafts, and even calligraphy.

由於海華中文學校是一個非牟利的學校，我們的用心，也獲得了各界的肯定與支持：列治文前國會議員陳卓愉先生特別寫信給B.C.省多元文化廳推薦本校辦學成果；為鼓勵我們的孩子學習中文，列治文加華獅子會特於本校設置獎學金；而溫哥華加華獅子會則以捐款方式贊助本校興學‧‧‧‧。

The Canadian-Chinese Mandarin School currently has classes for levels kindergarten through advanced (high school levels). We accept children five years old and up. Classes are held on Saturdays, from 9:30am to 12 pm, at R. C. Palmer Secondary School (8160 St. Albans Road, Richmond).
